Doxa has outgrown its current space and would love to expand into the fully developed vision of this community center. This is going to be the homebase for education and community programming and is a natural reflection of the changing needs in the surrounding community. After 30 years of house building as the primary focus, the needs of the Pedregal neighborhood have gradually shifted to be education and community.

The expansion will take place in three phases, allowing the center to grow in step with these evolving needs. Phase 1 will focus on essential infrastructure by constructing classrooms, a kitchen, storage, and an apartment for the caretaker. Phase 2 will bring the heart of the community to life with an atrium, welcome area, amphitheater, offices, and indoor activity spaces. Finally, Phase 3 will round out the vision with dedicated sports and recreation facilities, including a multi-sport space, bleachers, patio, and a play structure.

With this expanded community center building, we will have more space to offer a wide variety of community workshops and programs. Some future offerings may include trade apprenticeships, computer classes, financial literacy workshops, microlending, soup kitchen services, community concerts and events, soccer/sports leagues, and exercise/martial arts classes.
